About Temitope Olumuyiwa Ojo
Ojo Temitope, MBChB, MPH, FMCPH is a Public Health practitioner with over 10 years’ experience in the management and coordination of health services in Nigeria, with special focus on Occupational Health, Reproductive Health and Communicable diseases control. Dr. Temitope Ojo understands strategic issues in public health and how interventions can be implemented and monitored for maximum impact. Dr Temitope has vast experience on donor funded health interventions and has consulted/volunteered for some local and international organizations on research, Monitoring and Evaluation, Healthcare Waste management and a number of other public health initiatives. He has constantly improved his technical capacity by going for trainings and bringing them to bear on his job. A typical example is the MEASURE evaluation course on monitoring and evaluation (M&E) at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife, Nigeria where he further honed his skills in M&E and he currently serves as a training facilitator. He is an emerging scholar and a recipient of a number of travel and research grants from organizations such as Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH, UK), New York University, Abu Dhabi and the Blacksmith institute of New York. He obtained his Medical (MBChB) and Master of Public Health degrees from Obafemi Awolowo University and he holds a fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (Public Health) Before his present stint in OAU, Dr. Temitope Ojo was a consultant Physician at Babcock University Teaching Hospital. He was a Senior Registrar and Medical Officer in the Community Health departments of Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife and Federal Medical Center, Owo, Nigeria respectively, where he was responsible for community level implementation of health system components of the UNDP Millennium village project and the National HIV and TB/Leprosy control programs. Dr. Temitope is fluent in English and Yoruba with moderate proficiency in Hausa Language.
