About Eniola Cadmus

A medical doctor with professional and academic qualifications in Public Health. Eniola holds a PhD (Community Medicine) from the University of Ibadan; a Certificate in Global Tobacco Control (Tobacco Control ) from Johns Hopkins University, Masters’ in Public Health (Health Promotion with specific emphasis in Tobacco Control from University of Pretoria, and Community Health from University of Ibadan); and a Bachelor’s in Medicine and Surgery from University of Ibadan . She is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians (Community Health) and presently a Senior Lecturer in the Rehabilitative and Social Medicine Unit of the Department of Community Medicine at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan. She is also a consultant community physician at the University College Hospital, Ibadan and an honorary consultant at the first purpose-built specialized facility for the care of older persons in Nigeria, the Chief Tony Anenih Geriatric Centre (CTAGC). She is the team leader of the Community Geriatrics Unit at the Centre. The unit aims to promote the health and well-being of older persons both within the health facility and, more importantly, in the community. Her primary research interests lie in healthy aging and its determinants, provision of long-term care for older persons, mobile health, and behavioral change communication. Post-PhD, Eniola aspires to continue her research in ageing. Her vision is to be a world-class researcher in ageing research, geared toward meeting older person’s needs and improving their quality of life while enhancing healthy ageing. Her main goal is to initiate research and write grants that will make tangible contributions to the evidence base in the field of ageing and society at large.
