About Beryl Maritim
Beryl is currently working as a Program Manager at a population health program under Moi University/AMPATH, College of health science where she has been working since 2010. Her background training is in Environmental health and later pursued an MBA. After training, she spent some time working with a medical research foundation in Kenya where she was involved in Trachoma prevention efforts in Northern Kenya and also participated in regional HIV sero-behavioral studies among fishing communities and institutions of higher learning in the East Africa Region. She later joined the Ministry of Health where she was a public health officer at a district hospital in rural Kenya where she was responsible for a school health program and also taught Environmental health and research units part time at a medical training college. Her diverse work exposures have enabled her gain skills in project management, health communication, training and administration. Her research interests are around Universal health coverage and particularly health financing where health insurance is concerned.
