About Aurore Nishimwe

A lecturer in the School of Health Sciences/College of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Rwanda. Aurore holds a Master of Science degree in Health Informatics, a Bachelor’s degree in Population Studies, and an advanced diploma in Anaesthesia. She is involved in various undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research supervision, and community attachments. Aurore delivers courses in undergraduate programs and assists in teaching in masters programs of health informatics. In addition, according to her professional affiliation, she serves as the coordinator of the bridging program, the Research focal person, the head of the examination and appeal committee, and the vice-chairperson of e-learning, web design, and consultancy at departmental level. In the same line, Aurore also serves as a member of the quality assurance committee at the departmental level, and currently, she is a member of several international bodies, namely, member of the international society for telemedicine and e-health (ISfTeH), member of the Brazilian Telemedicine and Telehealth Congress, member of World One Health Congress, member of Rwandan Association of Anesthetists, member of Rwanda health informatics organization(RIO), member of Rwanda Allied Health Professions Council (RAHPC) and member of East Africa Quality Assurance Network (EAQAN). Aurore is currently pursuing her PhD in public health in University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa sponsored by CARTA (Consortium for Advanced Research and Training in Africa). She is also a one health fellow, through the generosity of Cummings foundation at Tufts University, USA. She has worked with the Higher Education Consortium of Central Massachusetts (HECCMA) in USA for her one health fellowship one-month internship. Aurore’ areas of research interests include public health, telemedicine, and eHealth, implementation research, quality assurance in education and more. She has two peer-reviewed publications and several conference proceedings publications.
